This study dealt with the domestic and foreign Policy of King louis IX of France (1226-1270 AD), Who assumed Power as a young child, therefore his mother, Blancher of Castiller, assumed guardianship over him and ruled the kingdom as a regent until he reached maturity. During Louis’ childhood, she was able to eliminate all the revolutions that took place against him to establish his rule.when he reached the legal age, he worked on the stability of security in his country, along with the Prosperity of the urban ,economic ,social and scientific aspects which led the French monarchy to reached its maximum strength and prestige. King Louis took advantage of the immense prestige and recognition he enjoyed throughout Western Christendom to establish peace in the European continent. Since the war against Muslims was one of the Christian beliefs, he launched a war against the Muslims in two Crusades. The first military expedition was over Egypt and ended with his capture. After he was released in exchange for a ransom decided by the Muslim, he returned to Acre trying to compensate for his loss, so he worked to unite the crusaders, and restore the walls of the cities. The second campaign, it was against Tunisia, so he made attempts to Christianize its people before embark the war, so that they would be an obedient tool in hands until he achieved his goal of reaching Egypt through Tunisia. However, that campaign failed and died during it.
In view of this, we address the problem of the research in the following questions: why was King Louis called Saint? What is the reason behind his era being considered the golden age of France? why did he shift his hostility against Muslims from military war to intellectual war Christiansation? What were the events and results of his campaign against Egypt, which he called the Seventh Crusade in 1250AD? Why did he launch a campaign to Tunisia in 1270AD? Therefore, the Present Study aims to clarify the upbringing and personality of King IX. And shed view on his domestic Policy after he monopolized the rule of France and explain his foreign policy with different countries and kingdoms and their results. Explaining his campaign against Egypt, its causes – its events- its results. And shed view on hisgoals in Egypt campaign against Tunisia and make it missionary campaign so that he can achieve his goals in Egypt.
